CM Complaints Cell holds open hearing to address public grievances

Published on: June 14, 2026 4:29 AM

Acting on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell organized an open public hearing (Khuli Katcheri) in Multan to address citizens’ grievances and ensure prompt resolution of public issues.

According to a handout issued here, Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell Saima Farooq personally heard complaints from members of the public. Commissioner Multan Amir Karim Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Usman Gondal, Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique, City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Dogar and heads of relevant departments were also present on the occasion.

A large number of men and women attended the hearing held at Raza Hall and raised issues relating to land encroachments, law and order and various public service sectors. Accompanied by senior officials, Saima Farooq listened to citizens’ concerns and issued on-the-spot directions for their resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, Saima Farooq said open public hearings reflected public trust and contributed to improved governance. She said that on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, efforts were being made to further strengthen and streamline public service delivery across the province.

She said relevant departments had been assigned tasks on the spot to ensure swift disposal of complaints, adding that delays in resolving public issues would not be tolerated. She added that the series of open public hearings would continue to promote public service and strengthen good governance, while joint monthly hearings involving all departments would also be held regularly.

Saima Farooq said the Punjab government was taking practical measures to ensure timely resolution of public issues and described open public hearings as an effective means of bridging the gap between the government and the people. She added that efforts to resolve citizens’ problems at their doorstep would continue in line with the vision of the chief minister.

More than 400 citizens directly presented their grievances during the hearing.
