The prime minister said he stands in full solidarity with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the Emirates following the attacks.
“Pakistan stands firmly with the government and brotherly people of the UAE during this difficult time,” he stated.
Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the urgent need to preserve and respect the ceasefire currently in place amid wider tensions involving Iran, the United States, and regional allies.
He said maintaining the ceasefire is essential to preventing further escalation and allowing diplomatic efforts the necessary space to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
The statement came after missile and drone strikes were reported in the UAE on Monday. According to the Emirati Ministry of Defence, multiple aerial threats were detected, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones allegedly launched toward the country.
UAE officials said their defence systems responded to the threats and noted that the country reserves the right to respond.
However, Iranian media cited security sources denying responsibility for attacks on the UAE and instead blamed broader regional instability on US military actions.
The latest developments have added to growing concerns over regional security as tensions continue to affect Gulf states and key energy infrastructure.
