Pakistan strongly condemned attacks on UAE, urges ceasefire respect

Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent missile and drone attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing solidarity with the Emirati leadership and calling for respect for the ongoing regional ceasefire.

In an official statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the strikes carried out overnight against the UAE and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the country during a period of heightened regional tensions.

Pakistan strongly condemns the missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates last night. I express full solidarity with His Highness @MohamedBinZayed. Pakistan stands firmly with our Emirati brothers and sisters as well as with the Government of…

The prime minister said he stands in full solidarity with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the Emirates following the attacks.

“Pakistan stands firmly with the government and brotherly people of the UAE during this difficult time,” he stated.

Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the urgent need to preserve and respect the ceasefire currently in place amid wider tensions involving Iran, the United States, and regional allies.

He said maintaining the ceasefire is essential to preventing further escalation and allowing diplomatic efforts the necessary space to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

The statement came after missile and drone strikes were reported in the UAE on Monday. According to the Emirati Ministry of Defence, multiple aerial threats were detected, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones allegedly launched toward the country.

UAE officials said their defence systems responded to the threats and noted that the country reserves the right to respond.

However, Iranian media cited security sources denying responsibility for attacks on the UAE and instead blamed broader regional instability on US military actions.

The latest developments have added to growing concerns over regional security as tensions continue to affect Gulf states and key energy infrastructure.

Pakistan has consistently called for dialogue and diplomatic engagement to reduce tensions in the Middle East, while also maintaining close ties with Gulf partners including the UAE.

The prime minister’s statement reflects Islamabad’s broader position that military escalation should be avoided and negotiations prioritised to restore stability in the region.
