Export of footwear rises 2.36% to $ 142.57m

The export of footwear from the country witnessed an increase of 2.36 percent during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (2025-26) as compared to the exports of the corresponding months of last year.

The country exported footwear worth US$ 142.573 million during July-March 2025-26 as opposed to the export of US$ 139.284 million during July-March 2024-25, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Among the footwear products, the exports of leather footwear witnessed a nominal decline of 2.69 percent, from US$ 108.096 million to US$ 105.192 million during the months under review.

The exports of canvas footwear also decreased by 46.17 percent by going down from US$ 2.045 million last year to US$ 1.101 million, the PBS data revealed.

However, the exports of all other footwear rose by 24.49 percent to US$ 36.280 million from US$ 29.143 million in the same months last year.

Meanwhile, year-on-year basis, the footwear exports decreased by 15.99 percent during the month of March 2026 as compared to the same month of last year. The footwear exports during March 2026 were recorded at $10.281 million against the export of $12.880 million in March 2025.

During the period under review, the export of canvas footwear appreciated by 86.39 percent. However, the export of leather and all other footwear dipped 14.34 and 23.93 percent, respectively.

On a month-on-month basis, the exports of footwear commodities went down by 41.45 percent during March 2026 as compared to the exports of $18.483 million in February 2026, the PBS data revealed. On a month-on-month basis, the exports of canvas footwear increased by 9.64 percent. however, the export of leather and all other footwear dipped by 34.38 and 59.62 percent, respectively.
