
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to mediation during the ongoing Islamabad Talks. The statement came amid high-level US-Iran negotiations in the capital. The development matters as it aims to reduce tensions after a prolonged regional conflict.
Shehbaz Sharif met an Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Islamabad. He expressed appreciation for Iran’s participation in the peace process. Moreover, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to support meaningful diplomatic outcomes. This reflects Islamabad’s active mediatory role in regional stability.

The talks include participation from senior officials of both Iran and the United States. The Iranian side also included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Earlier, PM Shehbaz also met US Vice President JD Vance and other American officials. In addition, Pakistan emphasized constructive engagement to achieve a lasting ceasefire. However, tensions remain high due to recent regional conflict and economic disruption. Therefore, negotiations are seen as highly critical.
