Official statements indicated that between February 28 and March 11, US President Donald Trump spoke with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed at least twice by phone. During the same period, Russian President Vladimir Putin also contacted the Emirati leader on more than one occasion.

Officials said the consultations centred on regional security concerns, efforts to reduce tensions and the importance of continued diplomatic engagement between major international powers.

The conversations come at a time of heightened security concerns across the region, prompting increased diplomatic outreach among global leaders aimed at preventing further escalation. Analysts say such contacts highlight the role of regional powers in facilitating dialogue during periods of geopolitical uncertainty.

The UAE leadership reiterated the importance of cooperation, consultation and diplomatic channels to address emerging challenges and maintain stability. Authorities emphasised that communication among international leaders remains essential in managing crises and avoiding further conflict.

The United Arab Emirates has in recent years played an active role in supporting regional stability and promoting diplomatic dialogue between global actors. The country has often positioned itself as a mediator and facilitator in regional and international discussions.
