The rebranded event follows a November vote by Screen Actors Guild to rename the show. Now titled the Actor Awards, the ceremony continues its tradition of recognising performances selected exclusively by fellow actors — a distinction that sets it apart during awards season.

Hosted for the second consecutive year by Kristen Bell, the show is streaming live on Netflix from 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Before the ceremony began, one major honour had already been confirmed. Harrison Ford is receiving the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, recognising his six-decade career in film and television as well as his humanitarian efforts off screen. The prestigious accolade has previously been awarded to figures including Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Carol Burnett.
This year’s nominations span both film and television, with ensemble categories highlighting standout casts and individual categories recognising leading and supporting performances. Film contenders include titles such as Frankenstein, Hamnet, Sinners and One Battle After Another, while television nominees range from drama series The White Lotus and Severance to comedy favourites Abbott Elementary and The Bear.

Winners are being announced live throughout the evening, with industry attention focused on which performances earn recognition from actors themselves — a factor that often signals momentum heading into the remainder of awards season.
