A bench headed by Justice Khadim Soomro heard the petitions during Thursday’s proceedings. Defence counsel Salman Safdar argued that objections raised by the Registrar’s Office were groundless. He said the office initially questioned an old Wakalatnama but later accepted the same document. He added that other objections related to flagged pages and document sequencing.
During the hearing, Justice Soomro questioned why the case was listed despite unresolved technical issues. However, he granted the defence seven days to correct remaining clerical errors. In a light-hearted remark, he advised counsel to properly flag the pages. The court subsequently approved the miscellaneous pleas submitted alongside the main petition.

Safdar requested that he not return empty-handed on his first appearance in this matter. Consequently, the court admitted the plea for regular hearing. The detailed arguments on sentence suspension will now be heard in the second week of March. The case remains central to the legal challenges surrounding the Al-Qadir Trust matter.
