The incident occurred on December 25, 2025, when the child’s mother had taken her sick infant to the hospital for treatment. While stopped at Mir Nakkah to bottle-feed, a woman approached and offered assistance in getting to the hospital. The child received medical attention and a drip, but as the treatment concluded, the woman suddenly ran off with the baby wrapped in a sheet.

Child abduction cases remain a concern in Pakistan, with experts advising parents to remain alert during visits to medical facilities. It is recommended that children are constantly monitored and not left in the care of strangers, even in hospitals. Parents are also cautioned against assuming hospital staff can supervise children at all times due to other responsibilities.

Hospital administrations have been reminded to enhance security measures and prevent unauthorized access, particularly in wards treating infants and young children. Law enforcement officials have also appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity near hospitals to aid investigations.

The police are continuing their inquiry, including tracking the suspects seen in the footage, and have asked anyone with information about the abduction to come forward. The child’s safety remains a priority as the authorities intensify efforts to reunite the infant with the family.
