
Karachi is likely to receive its first winter rain from Tuesday. The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued the forecast on Monday. Light rain and drizzle may continue for two days.
According to the Met Office, a westerly weather system is approaching Sindh. The system is expected to affect Karachi on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures may drop slightly during this period.

Meanwhile, light rain is also expected in several Sindh districts. These include Larkana, Hyderabad, Dadu, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Thatta, Badin, and Tharparkar. Dry and cool weather will prevail elsewhere in the province.
The Met Office earlier warned of a stronger weather system nationwide. Heavy snowfall is likely in upper regions during the coming week. These areas include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and Balochistan.

The westerly wave may strengthen from December 30. It is expected to affect upper and central regions by December 31. The system may persist in upper areas until January 2.
