
NAWABSHAH: First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari has encouraged girl cadets to develop leadership qualities while upholding discipline, resilience, and respect in all aspects of life. She urged them to carry the honour of their families and the country with confidence and integrity.

She was addressing the 5th passing out parade and Annual Parents’ Day at Bakhtawar Cadet College for Girls, where she attended as the chief guest. The event marked another milestone for Pakistan’s first girls’ cadet college, established to empower young women through structured education and leadership training.

Aseefa highlighted the college’s historic significance and praised the dedication of cadets, the commitment of the faculty, and the Sindh government’s continued support. She said these combined efforts had helped shape the institution into a centre producing confident, disciplined, and globally competitive young women.
Referring to Pakistan’s history, she reminded cadets of the leadership legacy of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. She emphasised that educating and empowering girls was essential for building a strong and progressive Pakistan.
During the ceremony, the first lady presented college crests and awards to outstanding cadets. She also witnessed a march past, physical training and gymnastic performances, as well as a karate demonstration by the students.
College officials briefed her that Bakhtawar Cadet College, established in 2017 and managed by the Pakistan Air Force, currently has 423 cadets enrolled from across the country. The institution aims to provide quality education alongside character-building and leadership development.
In the visitors’ book, Aseefa paid tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari for his vision in establishing the college. She expressed hope that the cadets would continue to excel and serve the nation with pride.

Earlier, she inaugurated a newly built gymnasium and swimming pool, participated in a tree plantation drive, and opened the Art and Science Exhibition 2025–26. Later, she also inaugurated the Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Nawabshah.
