Renewed calls to crush terrorism as nation pays tribute to APS martyrs | 24 News HD

ISLAMABAD: Political leaders across Pakistan paid tribute on Monday to the students and teachers martyr in the Army Public School (APS) attack in Peshawar on December 16, 2014. They praised the courage and resilience of the bereaved families and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the barbaric attack not only shocked the nation but also strengthened its resolve to eliminate terrorism. He described the sacrifices of APS martyr as a symbol of national unity, courage, and determination, and reaffirmed parliament’s commitment to strong legislation to counter extremism.

Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani noted that the martyrs laid down their lives for knowledge, peace, and humanity. He emphasised that despite years passing, the nation continues to feel the pain of this tragedy, and that national unity and collective effort remain crucial to combat terrorism.

Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Syedal Khan, expressed deep grief over the loss of innocent children and teachers. He extended condolences to the families of the martyrs, saying their sacrifices continue to inspire Pakistan and reinforcing the nation’s commitment to honour their memory.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, also paid homage, stating that the sacrifices of students, teachers, and armed forces will always be remembered with honour and respect. Leaders urged the country to remain vigilant against hostile elements attempting to undermine peace and stability.

The day serves both as a remembrance of the APS martyrs and a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s collective determination to safeguard future generations and ensure a peaceful and secure nation.
