13 India-backed militants killed in KP terror purge

Security forces have killed 13 khwarij terrorists belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

“On reported presence of khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in Mohmand District. During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, seven khwarij were sent to hell,” Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In another Intelligence based operation conducted in Bannu District, six more khwarij were effectively neutralised by Security Forces.

“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it further said.

President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating terrorists operating under Indian patronage.

Also, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to security forces for carrying out two separate successful operations against terrorists in district Mohmand and district Bannu. The PM said that entire nation was united against terrorism and was fully determined to completely root out all types of terrorism from the country.

At least 502 people, including security personnel, were martyred in terrorism-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the current year, according to a police report released on Sunday.

Police have issued a detailed report on the human losses caused by terrorism in the province. The report states that 1,588 terrorist incidents were recorded in KP this year. As a result of these attacks, 223 civilians were martyred and 570 injured.

According to the report, 137 police personnel were martyred and 236 injured, while 18 personnel from other law enforcement agencies also lost their lives. In addition, 124 Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel were martyred and 244 injured in terrorist incidents.

The report further revealed that 348 terrorists were killed during various security operations conducted throughout the year.

Region-wise data shows that the Bannu region recorded the highest number of cases with 394 incidents. In Bannu, 41 police personnel were martyred and 89 injured, while 54 civilians lost their lives and 125 were injured.

In Dera Ismail Khan region, 152 cases were registered, where 137 terrorists were killed. North Waziristan reported 181 cases with 38 civilians martyred and 182 injured.

Meanwhile, 103 cases were registered in South Waziristan, resulting in 39 civilian deaths and 86 injuries.

The report highlights the continuing security challenges faced by the forces and civilians amid ongoing counterterrorism operations.
