The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has announced a plan to create new provinces in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan. The proposed provinces will be named Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern. IPP said the plan will not change the names of existing provinces.
IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan said forming new provinces in Sindh will allow chief ministers to focus more on governance and development projects. He added that new inspector generals, chief secretaries, and high courts will improve administrative efficiency.

The federal minister for communications said Punjab could also be divided into three to four provinces. This, he said, will enhance service delivery and ensure faster response to citizens’ problems. In Balochistan, remote residents spend days traveling to the capital, so new provinces will ease hardships.
Khan emphasized that the proposal aims solely at public welfare and is free of prejudice. He added that having multiple chief ministers instead of one will not harm governance. The initiative, he said, will accelerate development and improve public services.
