
MUMBAI: Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal have announced their engagement, sharing the joyful news through a reel on Instagram. The video featured her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, and Shreyanka Patil, dancing to the viral song Samjho Ho Hi Gaya, choreographed by Smriti and her fellow players. Smriti also proudly displayed her engagement ring in the post.

The couple’s announcement quickly drew congratulations from fans across the country. Palash Muchhal had previously hinted at their engagement, joking that Smriti would soon become Indore’s daughter-in-law.

Smriti, a World Cup-winning cricketer, recently impressed during the ICC Women’s World Cup, scoring 434 runs at an average of 54.22, including a century. Her outstanding cricketing performance coupled with the engagement has made the moment even more special for fans.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his best wishes to the couple, describing their union as a “happy merger” and encouraging them to build a life rooted in trust and shared responsibilities. The prime minister further revealed that the wedding is scheduled for November 23.
