
LAHORE – The Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has issued a notification detailing the transfer and posting of five senior police officers across the province.
According to the notification, Ali Waseem, previously District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah, has been appointed as DPO Dera Ghazi Khan. Captain (R) Tariq Vilayat, outgoing DPO Dera Ghazi Khan, will now serve as SSP Research and Analysis at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab.

Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, AIG Welfare, has been given the additional charge of DPO Mandi Bahauddin, while Waseem Riaz, the outgoing DPO Mandi Bahauddin, has been appointed as AIG Information Technology at the Central Police Office (CPO). SP Investigation Dera Ghazi Khan, Shamsuddin, will take on the additional charge of DPO Layyah.
The IG’s office stated that these transfers are part of efforts to enhance police efficiency and ensure optimal utilization of officers’ skills across the province. The reshuffle aims to strengthen administrative and operational capabilities within key districts of Punjab.
