PDWP approves 96 development projects worth over Rs 10 billion

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved 96 development projects worth Rs 10 billion for the province.

These projects were approved during PDWP meeting attending by additional Chief Secretary KP Ikramullah Khan.

The forum approved 96 important projects related to roads, primary, secondary and higher education, health, and urban development for the progress of the province.

The approved projects includes multiple feasibility studies under the provincial government’s flagship initiative, good governance roadmap. These include the approval of several road schemes aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth across the province.

Among the approved projects are feasibility study, design, and construction of Shahpur Toi Bridge, feasibility study and design for the construction of Indus Highway to Bannu Gate Check Post Road (7.5 km), feasibility study for an underpass at Charsadda Road, Faqirabad, feasibility study and design for widening of Saint Mary’s to Ring Road section on Peshawar Warsak Road and feasibility study for dualization of Swabi-Topi Road (19 km). The other approved projects are feasibility study and design of Katlang Bypass Road, feasibility study and construction of road from Jalala to Charsadda Interchange (14 km), feasibility study for the link road from Jalala to Expressway and feasibility study for the construction of Sherwan Road.

Rehabilitation of Tanawal Highway from Haripur City to Beer, feasibility study and design of Mayar to Shahi Bin Shahi Road (7 km) in Lower Dir, feasibility study for widening and improvement of Roper-Lora-Ghora Gali Provincial Highway (S-5) (26.70 km), Feasibility study and design for reconstruction and rehabilitation of Chakdara-Parrari Road (15 km) in District Swat, feasibility study and design of Barawal to Kalpani Top Road (13 km) and Feasibility study and design of Munda Bypass Road (5 km) in Lower Dir were also approved.

The remaining approved projects are feasibility study for construction of Jabar Bridge on Provincial Highway S-6 (Nizampur-Kohat Road) and rehabilitation of the old Kundar Road (1.3 km), feasibility study and design for Rustam Bypass Road, District Mardan, feasibility study for construction of Topi Hamlet Road (5.5 km) in District Swabi, feasibility study and design for dualization of Nowshera-Charsadda Road, feasibility study and design for link road from Ambela to Ismailia Interchange, Swabi, connecting to Swat Expressway, feasibility study and design for RCC Bridge on Nallah Jodha Katta on Oghi-Darbend Road, feasibility studies and designs for two bridges over River Swat in Charsadda and feasibility study, detailed engineering design, and construction of Haripur Section of the road and tunnel connecting Haripur to Islamabad (from Khanpur Intersection M-15 to D-12 Islamabad).

He said appointment of consultants for feasibility study, detailed engineering design, and commercial-cum-financial feasibility study for Swat Expressway Phase II (Chakdara to Fatehpur, 80 km) under PPP financing mode. Wheteas appointment of consultants for feasibility study, detailed engineering design, and commercial-cum-financial feasibility of Dir Motorway (50 km) under PPP mode, feasibility study and design for construction of link roads from University Road to Ring Road (Northern Section) and feasibility study and design for construction, widening, and blacktopping of 21 km roads in Sonai Dara, Haigi, and Khair Dara areas of Upper Dir District.

Alaike feasibility study and design of 15 km road from Rudh (Tehsil Wari) to Swat, feasibility study and design of bridge and road from Pul Ovi Meragram to Barigwal, feasibility study and design of bypass road from Grassa to Panr in District Swat besides feasibility study and design for traffic management system, flyovers, underpasses, or alternative bypass roads in Mingora City, feasibility study and design of Khal Bypass (7 km) from Sacha Bridge to Shalfolm Bridge, feasibility study and design of Gulabad to Sarbala Road (23 km) in Lower Dir approved.

The other approved projects are feasibility study and design for blacktopping the existing section of Anwar to Kalil Road (14 km) and construction of remaining portion connecting Districts Shangla, Buner, and Swat (7 km), easibility study and design of Patni to Darul Qaza Road in District Swat, feasibility study for the construction of a bypass from Khar Bazaar to Jarah., feasibility studies for Kaiba Mankial Suspension Bridge, Cheel Bishigram Shinkot Suspension Bridge, and Kozah Gehri Najwi Road in District Swat and easibility study and design for blacktopping and rehabilitation of 17 km Rehanpur to Lajbok Road.
