Zac Efron vacations with Nina Dobrev

Published on: September 22, 2025 2:08 AM

Good luck taking your eyes off Zac Efron’s new hairdo. The High School Musical star traded his signature brunette hair color for a striking new shade as he vacationed with Nina Dobrev-whose engagement to Shaun White was recently called off along with their pals Chace Crawford, Miles Teller and Keleigh Teller. During the nautical getaway, Zac, 37, showed off a bleach blonde look as he posed with the group aboard a yacht in a photo posted on Keleigh’s Instagram page Sept. 18. It’s not the Iron Claw star’s first time trying out a lighter look, either. He previously debuted a platinum blonde makeover in January 2019 at the Sundance Film Festival, though he later explained why he didn’t plan on maintaining the dye job for long. “That would be so much work and chemicals,” Zac told Entertainment Tonight in April of that year. “I doubt it.” While the actor admitted that the transformation only came about after he “lost a bet,” he shared that he previously experimented with a blonde look as a kid after being inspired by one of his childhood icons. “Eminem was cool when I was growing up,” he noted, adding, “This is my ‘Stan’ coming out.” And in 2016, Zac revisited another of his past hairstyles: a crimped ‘do he sported in the eighth grade. “I was at a summer camp for the arts,” he told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show at the time. “It was just me and a bunch of a lot older girls and they crimped my hair and I thought I was awesome… Anything they told me, I just said, ‘Yes.’ That sounds bad, but it was true.” Zac then proceeded to rock the throwback hairstyle once more when Jimmy presented him a lookalike wig, telling the late night host, “It feels amazing.
