The number of social media users in Pakistan has now exceeded 51.6 million. This surge highlights the country’s growing digital shift. Social media platforms are rapidly becoming the primary source for communication, news, and entertainment.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Facebook remains the most popular platform. It leads with 101.6 million users, far ahead of its competitors. YouTube follows closely in second, with 96.6 million users, thanks to its dominance in video streaming.
WhatsApp holds third place with 91.7 million active users. The app is Pakistan’s most used messaging platform, central to daily communication. Meanwhile, TikTok’s popularity continues to rise, securing the fourth spot with 90.3 million users.
Other platforms like Snapchat and Instagram rank fifth and sixth. Snapchat has 79.8 million users, while Instagram holds 49.9 million. X (formerly Twitter) lags behind with just 15.3 million users, marking it as the least popular platform.
This rise in social media users signals new opportunities in digital engagement. With more Pakistanis online, businesses and content creators can reach a wider audience. Social media’s role in the country is only set to grow as the digital landscape expands.
