LAHORE: An ongoing exhibition titled ‘Independence Pictorial Journey’ at Alhamra Art gallery is being appreciated by visitors on Monday.

The photography exhibition regarding the journey of Pakistan Movement in Art Gallery is a part of independence celebrations. The exhibition was organised in connection with Independence Day celebrations, which Alhamra Arts Council will feature until the end of the month.

The pictures displayed in the exhibition was given by Nazari-a-Pakistan Trust and comprised on rare collection kept by the Trust. The exhibition received well-response by visitors as number of people are visiting the gallery to know about the independence movement through pictures. Talking to Daily Times different visitors expressed this is good way to tell the narration of the Independence movement for children as well as for youth also. They said through pictures exhibition children when see ask question eventually increase their existing knowledge and understanding about our history.

Ifrah Saeed, mother of two children , told Daily Times she got to know about the exhibition on independence movement and pictures displayed here at gallery helped her children in learning history. The trust has given pictures comprising upon the Muslim refugees coming from India to Pakistan with having hope of a better life. The pictures displayed were of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah attending different meetings with the then leaders of independence movement and viceroy of British India. Other pictures which hanged on Ahamra’s Gallery were depicting struggle of then people of sub-continent attending public-meeting of Pakistan Muslim League. The exhibition also displayed the children paintings age group of 6 to 12 children participated in the competition held earlier on Independence Day and selected students got awards by the LAC in the ceremony held on Independence Day.

Another visitor, Ahmed, termed beautiful presentation of the pictures of independence by the Art Gallery , he also appreciated the ambiance of gallery made to facilitate the coming visitors.

On the occasion display officer at Alhamra Art Gallery Naveen Roma told Daily Times that the gallery by maintaining the standards received well response by visitors came to visit the ongoing ‘Independence Pictorial journey”. She said Alhamra art gallery in connection with Independence Day also organized number of events in the gallery for children.
