ISLAMABAD: Two more model seminaries will be established in Sukkur and Karachi to impart religious, contemporary and technical education to students, Pakistan Madrassah Education Board (PMEB) Chairman Dr Aamir Tauseen said on Sunday. Talking to teachers, students and employees of the Model Madaris of Sukkur and Karachi, he said that teachers of three model seminaries of Islamabad, Karachi and Sukkur would be imparted training so that they could impart quality education to the students of model seminaries in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The vocational training would be made necessary for students of model seminaries. The talented students of seminaries would be given scholarships, he said. Activating PMEB is need of the hour and it will launch English and Arabic language courses at the model seminaries, he said. The PMEB has been made active after 11 years. Dr Tauseen met the teachers and staff of the model seminaries and assured them that their problems would be solved. He said the board was planning to affiliate more than 200 religious seminaries.
