FAISALABAD: Local workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Faisalabad, have refused to work under Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his nominee Khurram Manzoor for the May 8 rally of the party. In a letter to party Chairman Imran Khan, about 40 leaders of the PTI said that Manzoor was not a suitable person for this job. They appealed to the party leader to form a committee headed by Chaudhry Ijaz to make the rally successful. It is worth mentioning here that the PTI chairman after the May 1 rally in Lahore had asked Chaudhry Ijaz to oversee the arrangements for the public rally in Faisalabad on May 8. However, Qureshi asked the party chairman to assign this task to him and Manzoor and they would make the rally a big hit. In a letter to the party chairman, local leaders of the party opposed the decision to assign this task to Qureshi and asked Khan to form a committee consisting of seven persons under the leadership of Chaudhry Ijaz. It is vital to mention here that Qureshi recently held a meeting with Asif Kirmani, political secretary of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he is looking for a guarantor to join the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
