DG NADRA seeks action against PMAP ministers, MPAs

Published on: May 28, 2016 11:36 PM

ISLAMABAD: Director General of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Balochistan Mairaj Khan Durrani has sent a request to Chairman NADRA for taking action against provincial ministers for interfering in preparation of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC).

The Director General in his application stated that provincial ministers belonging to Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awani Party (PMAP) namely Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai, Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal, MPAs Majeed Khan, Liaqat Agha and Nasrullah Zaire have directed their workers to make every possible in preparation of CNIC in NADRA.

NADRA Regional Headquarter Quetta in its official notification no 2402-04 dated May 23, 2016 stated the PMAP leaders have directed their workers to make forceful interference in NADRA affairs which, has made working of NADRA in transparent manner very difficult.

The Director General NADRA Balochistan has revealed in his letter to his Chairman that PMAP leaders are forcing NADRA staff to make CNICs of suspected people in different zones of the province.

Meanwhile, PMAP Secretary General in his reaction over the Director General NADRA Balochistan seeking action against PMAP ministers and MPAs, said it has exposed the personal enmity of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar with PMAP. The application moved by Director General NADRA was on behest of Chaudhry Nisar, he added. “Our party is patriotic political party and by dragging it in controversies is an attempt to malign the political face of the party”, Secretary General PMAP said, adding that he condemns the move.

He lamented over NADRA saying that NADRA is most corrupt institution of the country and Chaudhry Nisar just to hide his own corruption has started leveling baseless allegations on others and Pakhtun nation will take the matter seriously at every count.

He said more than 250,000 CNICs of Pakhtuns were blocked in Balochistan only and Chaudhry Nisar is eager to declare them as terrorists and extremists. When NADRA spokesman contacted online to give response on the application the Director General NADRA Balochistan has sent to Chairman NADRA regarding action against PMAP leaders, he refused to give any comment.
