Boost in vaccinations across Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Around 266,077 people, including 22,034 health workers and 244,043 senior citizens, have got their jabs against coronavirus at 22 centers across the district since the vaccination administering drive launched in the first week of March.

An official of the district administration informed APP that around 3,145 people had been inoculated the vaccine at the Texila Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ), 694 at Murree THQ, 1,248 at Kahuta THQ, 2,982 at Gujar Khan THQ, 471 at Kotli Sattian THQ, 1,420 at Kallar Saydan THQ, 9,637 at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, 4,707 at the Holy Family Hospital, 2,758 at the district headquarters hospital, 7,689 at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 488 at Government TB Sanatorium Samli, 6,830 at the Wah General Hospital, 70,206 at Shahbaz Sharif Complex, 16,381 at the Taxila Tehsil Office (TO), 9,374 at the Kallar Syedan TO, 21,663 at the Gujar Khan (TO), 1,312 at the Kotli Sattiyan (TO), 2,899 at the Murree (TO), 51,495 at Potohar TO, 8,566 at the Kahuta TO, while 40,252 people received jabs at Red Crescent vaccination centre.

He said the number of beneficiaries being vaccinated every day was showing a progressive increase. Meanwhile, according to data shared by the district administration here on Tuesday, the number of total coronavirus positive cases has reached 25,980 – 23,998 from Rawalpindi and 1982 from other districts – after the addition of 72 more positive cases during the last 24 hours.

The report said 24,223 patients were discharged from hospitals while 1,719 were quarantined – 997 at homes and 722 in isolation centres.
“Presently, 86 confirmed patients were admitted to various city facilities, counting 17 in Holy Family Hospital, 11 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 35 in Institute of Urology, 17 in Fauji Foundation Hospital, and one each in Bilal hospital and Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial trust while only one has lost his life during the last 24 hours,” the health authority report said.
