The Islamabad police Tuesday registered a First-Information Report (FIR) against Senator Hafiz Hamdullah, few days after he allegedly misbehaved with political commentator Marvi Sirmed during a live TV show. In a series of tweets, Marvi said she was informed by the federal police about the FIR, which has been registered against Hamdullah under sections 506 and 354. Apologies for typo in this tweet. FIR has been registered under sections 506 and 354. https://t.co/69zCpI9xEF — Marvi Sirmed (@marvisirmed) June 14, 2016 “Would have been much better if the relevant Section 354-A would have been invited, which is more stringent and is non-bailable,” she expressed her views about the FIR in another tweet. Marvi said the JUI-F senator had cut her comment and threatened her with violence during a live TV show on June 10. She had posted details of the incident on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. On Monday, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani had said there was no need for his permission before any investigation into the June 10 incident, adding that Senate rules require only intimation not permission.
