KARACHI: Journalists on Friday boycotted an iftar party after dining tables were set up adjacent to washrooms inside the Sindh Assembly building. Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani had thrown the iftar party for journalists, parliamentarians, social leaders and visitors after the post-budget debate. A day earlier, journalists had to break fasts on roads when they were barred from entering the cafeteria of the Sindh Assembly for iftar afte covering of post-budget debate at press gallery of the Sindh Assembly. Journalists have decided to boycott such invitations in future. Meanwhile, the Sindh Assembly continued debate in its 9th sitting of 25th session under the chairmanship of Speaker Speaker Agha Siraj Durani. During the course of debate, leader of opposition made a long speech criticising the provincial budget. However, Sindh minister Murad Ali Shah responded to the allegations levelled by the opposition leader. Later, Sindh Assembly Speaker adjourned the hearing of the house to resume the session today (Saturday).
