Another season of ‘Game Of Thrones’ comes to an end and we are left to our own devices for one long year. The anticipation with each passing violent and shocking episode ended with an epic finale that left us spellbound. In season six, we saw the women of Westeros take their rightful place and reach the heights of power they were destined for. From victims to victors, each character won us over as they grew and achieved their goals no matter the consequences. I was simply blown over by the dark, violent nature of the season and overwhelmed by the influence the women exert by the end of it. ‘GOT’ fans will have to wait it out until next year to see what’s next. While we wait for season 7, here is my top pick of Pakistani actresses who can play the female protagonists of Westeros if cast in Pakistan. Amina Sheikh needs to no introduction and the dusky beauty deserves to sit on the iron throne as Cersei; Sheikh has shown over the course of her career that she can play a range of characters and as Cersei can reach her ultimate goal – The iron throne no matter the consequences. She has lost everyone she held dear in the road towards the throne, she schemed her way towards the power she wanted and craved so desperately even if it meant that it left her all alone in her journey. Sheikh is our very own Cersei Lannister. The sultry Mehwish Hayat as Daenerys Targaryen can replace Emilia Clarke who grows from an innocent young princess under the influence of her brother who simply uses her for his own gains to the steely eyed mother of three dragons. She never loses her femininity and shows in the six-year journey of ‘Game of Thrones’ as she grows into a woman and even in the worst of times or battles, she remains forever beautiful and exerts an aura fit for a queen. Hayat is the multi-faceted actress who defines the fervour and passion seen in Daenerys. Saba Qamar is the embodiment of Sansa Stark; the award-winning actress has a quiet strength about her reflected in the characters she plays and can channel that strength to reach her goal. She does the right thing; she can endure hate, torture, ridicule yet maintain her composure and steely reserve. The ability to keep going no matter the circumstances is what keeps us in awe of Sansa. We have seen her grow from a teenage girl to a woman of power. Sansa Stark has grown and so can Saba Qamar when she channels her inner strength to rule the north. You think of Arya Stark and if need be Sanam Saeed will fit the role perfectly. Saeed might not be a teenager but she can channel the range of emotions Arya had to go through from seeing her father beheaded to losing every single person she held dear to her heart. She is not forgiving and she will not let go, she has set out to take back what rightly belongs to her and make everyone pay for what they did to her family. She was the vulnerable young girl who grew up to avenge her own. Saeed is our very own Arya Stark who can fight and achieve what she sets her mind to. The aura of the Red priestess Melisandre is unmatched in the land of Westeros; her beauty, her magic and her gift of prophecy. She is the mother of a shadow baby and everyone in the seven kingdoms knows about her sorcery and the power she wields. She resurrected Jon Snow from the dead this season and reminded us again why Melisandre is one of the most powerful woman in the land. The gorgeous Ayesha Khan will befit the role of Melisandre perfectly because of her effortless charm, acting skills and will be brilliant in a role as amazingly scary as this one.
