Five reasons why you need to register for the NASFF

Published on: November 8, 2020 9:55 AM

Pakistan is a multi-coloured fabric stitched together by faith, peace and hope for the future. It has the ability to rise from ashes and shine when provided with adequate opportunities. Our youth is the future of the country – it is the backbone and the primary asset of Pakistan, and when given the right kind of encouragement, it has the ability to outshine and project an exceptional image at the global stage. In order to showcase the true side of Pakistani culture and heritage, we need interactive platforms like NASFF to highlight the talented youth and empower them to follow their passion, while building the true image of the country.

The NASFF is perhaps an amateur filmmakers dream come true. It is a fresh wave in the muddy waters of misconstrued Pakistani perception in the international arena. It is a golden ticket for the young talent to portray their skills as filmmakers, cinematographers and editors at the international level. It will be a gateway for creative youth of our country to truly harness their abilities and learn varying degrees of newer, improved forms of media productions and take their existing skillsets up a notch.

If utilized in the correct perspective, NASFF could prove to be the answers to our prayers as a nation. Years of negative image building and fables will be busted, as Pakistan’s compassionate and softer side would come to light in the form of visual storytelling, all the while empowering the youth and assisting them in their future endeavors. This festival will provide exposure to amateur directors, cinematographers, writers and cameramen, who have immense talent but haven’t gotten their big break. It is the perfect opportunity to bring forth raw talent and give them international recognition.

If you’re still not sure why you should register for the NASFF, here are five reasons to stop waiting around and do it now!

1. The Limelight

If you register for the NASFF, the one thing you’re guaranteed to get is the spotlight. You will be in the limelight, not just nationally but internationally as well. People from around the world will appreciate your work.

2. The Experience

Apart from the ornamental aspects of being a part of a national level film festival, the experience you would gain will be tremendous. You will learn from your peers and through workshops during the festival that would greatly fuel your future ambitions. You know what they say, there’s no better teacher than learning and exploring new things.

3. You Will Form Lifelong Connections

You and your team of participants will learn the art of co-existing, while learning and brushing up your filmmaking techniques. You will be mentored and guided by the finest media persons that Pakistan has to offer; these connections might prove to be helpful in furthering your career.

4. Recognition and Empowerment

All participants will be given due recognition and acknowledgment. The judges and jury will also mention specific works/creators that are worth a prize, while giving out awards.

5. Scholarship Opportunity

Apart from other grand prizes, a few lucky contestants will be awarded full scholarships to study in some of the top film schools in the world. What better than to fulfill your dream of going to film school all the while projecting a better image of your country? It’s a win-win for all.
