Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday telephoned Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and provincial ministers and lauded the measures taken by them during the recent rain spell. The PPP chairman during his telephonic conversations sought information regarding relief measures taken after the heavy spell of rainfall from Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and provincial ministers holding portfolios of public health engineering and local government. Efforts to drain rainwater in parts of the province are undergoing in a speedy manner and all available resources are being utilized for the purpose, they said. The PPP chairman asked the chief minister and the provincial ministers to make an estimation of losses from recent rainfall. Bilawal expressed profound grief over the loss of lives during the rain and urged upon the federal and provincial governments to announce a special package for rain-affectees. Meanwhile, former president Asif Ali Zardari has said that the flag of grandson of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Martyr of Karbala Imam Hussain (AS) which was raised against falsehood will be held high with high spirits at any cost. “We will endure all kinds of oppression but will not bow before any falsehood,” he said in a statement issued by the party. The former president paid tribute to Imam Hussain (AS), who won the battle against falsehood by sacrificing his own life and his family. He said that the unique role of Bibi Zainab (SA) is a beacon of light for the Muslim Ummah. The great sacrifice of the martyrs of Karbala is a means of awakening the humanity, he added. Zardari said that Imam Hussain (AS) is the great hero of the entire universe and that is why people of all religions and faiths recognize him as a champion of truth and truthfulness. “We are honored to be the followers of Imam Hussain (AS) and pledge that we will not bow before any falsehood,” he added.
