PESHAWAR: The provincial capital police have arrested two people who were allegedly involved in honour killing case from the precincts of Pishtakhara Police Station on Wednesday. According to reports, Pishtakhara police had found an unidentified body in the jurisdiction of Landi Akhun Ahmad. The deceased person was identified as Yousaf who was reported to be missing since July 8. A murder case was registered at the Pishtakhara Police Station against the unidentified murderer and an investigation team was formed under the supervision of Sub Inspector (SI) Ali Akbar Khan. After an inquiry, the investigation team managed to trace two suspects, identified as Shabnam and Anwar. Police claimed that Shabnam and Yousaf were having an affair and her relative Anwar saw them as a threat to their family and killed the victim. An uncle of the deceased told Daily Times that his nephew was an electrician and was allegedly lured by Shabnam in a love affair. He further said that the girl was of ill repute and lured young men into illicit relationships. “An allegation also proven by the call detail record (CDR) report”, said his uncle. One of the accused, Anwar, informed that the deceased entered his house uninvited and violated their privacy which was an insult to the traditions of the society in which they were living. “He was compelled to take such severe step of then killing Yousaf in order to avenge the disrespect that the he had brought to his family, Anwar said. Police arrested both the suspects and further investigation is underway.
