ISLAMABAD: An audit report has revealed that as many as 3,830 appointments made in the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) were illegal.
These inductions were made owing to political affiliations and in defiance of rules and regulations.
According to the report available with Daily Times 100 posts of loaders and helpers were advertised and 430 persons were appointed in excess of the the advertised posts.
Likewise 500 posts of ASM Grade 5 were advertised and 183 persons were enrolled, which is more than the advertised posts. 23 record keepers have also been appointed which is again more than the available posts. Eighteeen persons were appointed in excess of existing posts and 15 persons were enrolled in excess of the advertised posts in Grade 14.
According to the report, these appointments were made in the Abbottabad region, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Sargodha and Sukkur.
The report said 13 persons were appointed illegally and 32 persons beyond existing strength against the post of area manager.
2 persons have been appointed illegally against the post of assistant accounts, 225 persons against the post of salesmen and 305 persons against the post of assistant salesmen.
National Assembly (NA) Parliamentary Committee will open debate on illegal appointments made in USC . This matter can be referred to NAB, sources told Daily Times.
