Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday said that the people of all provinces are on the same page to expel Prime Minister Imran Khan out of power. “The PTI government is involved in the theft of flour, sugar, petrol and other basic commodities but not a single investigation has been conducted. We’ll have to get rid of this selected government,” the PPP chairman told media after holding a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif at the latter’s Model Town residence in Lahore. “We are jointly working for the people of Pakistan as they are facing multiple problems due to this incompetent government,” he said. Bilawal said different suggestions have been put forward by the opposition parties, including an in-house change and demand of fresh elections. “All these issues will be discussed in the upcoming APC which is being convened shortly,” he said. In answer to a question, the PPP chairman said that there is no need to hold a sit-in in Islamabad as the government will fall when they will reach the middle way while heading towards the federal capital. Speaking on the occasion, PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Imran Khan cannot go side by side and that it will be in the interest of the country to get rid of this ‘incompetent’ government as soon as possible. “I have not seen such an incompetent government in my whole life where the relevant minister himself doesn’t know where the wheat has gone just after the harvest season,” he said. “Where are 5 million houses and 10 million jobs as promised by this government? The reality is that millions of people have been rendered jobless by PTI’s government,” the opposition leader added. Shehbaz said the government has failed miserably to address the problems being faced by the people. According to him, the Rehbar Committee meeting will be held after Eid to finalize the agenda of the APC. He also thanked the PPP chairman to visit him and inquiring about his health. Earlier, the two leaders had a detailed meeting and discussed the upcoming APC being convened by the opposition parties. PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor also accompanied Bilawal. PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal, Kh Saad Rafique, Ayaz Sadiq and Maryam Aurangzeb also attended the meeting. Separately, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto held a meeting with JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday at a local hotel in Lahore. It is pertinent to mention here that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif have talked on phone multiple times in the recent weeks. It was the third direct contact between the two leaders of the opposition in less than a month. Bilawal is trying hard to hold an APC of all the opposition parties to give tough time to the government and therefore he has visited Lahore the third time in the recent days. The PPP has also organized the provincial APC in Lahore and Karachi just recently to pave the way for an APC at the central level. The PPP chairman had also held a meeting with BNP-Mengal chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal few days ago in Islamabad.
