Published on: July 14, 2020 7:32 PM

CHAKWAL: Another miner lost his life due to electric shock on Tuesday, accident happened due to poor arrangements by the mine owners.

According to details, the death of one or another miner in the area of Choa Syedan Shah is becoming a daily occurrence.

Accidents often occurred at coal mines due to non-compliance with safety and rules. Ikhtiar Badshah, son of Sail Badshah, a coal miner, resident of Taraki khel district, Karak district, was electrocuted while working at Mine No. 8 of Super Punjab Coal Company, Dandot. Also yesterday, a miner Saeedullah son of Noor Mohammad died due to electric shock while working at MRF Coal Company, Dandot, Tehsil Puran, District Shangla.

These accidents are taking place due to non-availability of electricians for electrical work in the coal mines. It is not possible to prevent such accidents due to poor safety arrangements and facilities in the coal mines in Choa Syedan Shah area. Workers do all the sensitive work in the mine, including the electrician.

Due to the inattention of mine owners, such accidents are happening on a daily basis. Safety arrangements at coal mines are poor and non-existent. In addition, Mines Safety SOPs are not implemented.

If this is possible then such accidents and loss of precious lives can be avoided. The body of the deceased miner, deadbody, has been exhumed and sent to his native village after postmortem. Citizens have demanded Inspector of Mines Rawalpindi Region Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf to take notice of the death caused by this accident and investigate it and restore safety system at all mines so that such accidents can be avoided.
