MANCHESTER: Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, both won their first premier league games in charge of their new clubs as Manchester United and Manchester City are off to winning starts. Manchester City defeated Sunderland on Saturday with Sergio Aguero scoring for the new manager. Jermain Defeo equalised for the black cats but only for City to take the lead again courtesy of a Paddy McNair own goal. Not a good debut for McNair as his own goal proved to be the goal that cost Sunderland the match. Guardiola though, was welcomed to the premier league with all three points. Fans of Manchester United came into the stadium with huge expectations, considering having a new manager and having new players that could be considered ‘world class’, along with these players being named best players in the leagues that they were bought from. First name on the United line-up was Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish sensation came from Paris Saint German on a free transfer and the fans had huge expectations from him considering his character and his goal scoring record. Manchester united fans didn’t have to wait too long for their first goal of the Mourinho era as Juan Mata capitalized on a defensive mistake from the Bournemouth captain and scored with ease. United second goal was scored by the Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, who is now level on goals with Alan Shearer as the most away goals in the league and 3 behind Sir Bobby Charlton as leading scorer for United. The third goal in the 3-1 victory was scored by, who else, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. A 25 yard strike was his way to introduce himself to the premier league. Both Manchester clubs are off to a flying start with their new bosses and the fans cannot wait for the Manchester derby considering the history between the two clubs and the two managers.
