KHYBER AGENCY: Hundreds of Khugakhel tribesmen residing in Bacha Mina border village with Afghanistan on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against Frontier Corps (FC) personnel deployed at Shaheed Morr check-post. Alongside the Bacha Mina residents, a large number of All Torkham Custom Clearance Agents Union (ATCCAU) workers, also participated in the protest demonstration. The protesters gathered at Shaheed Morr near Torkham border and blocked the Torkham-Landikotal Road for all kind of traffic for two hours. They chanted slogans against the misbehaving FC personnel as well as unnecessary checking at the check -posts. The protesters were holding banners, placards and had fastened black strips around their heads. Holding the FC personnelresponsible , they said that due to their negligence and unnecessary checking at the check-post, a heart patient lost his life. They said that a tribesman who was suffering from heart attack breathed his last while waiting at the check-post for his turn to get clearance and head to a hospital. They said despite the serious health situation of a heart patient the FC personnel did not allow the vehicle to shift him to hospital on time. Army officials came to the protesters and held a dialogue with them. On their assurance the protesters ended their protest and reopened the road for traffic.
