CDA set to launch crackdown on illegal schemes

ISLAMABAD: The city managers have decided to start a crackdown against 55 unauthorised housing schemes and the buildings constructed in Zone-I without getting an approval.

However, it is worthy to mention here that some sectors do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Capital Development Authority in spite of the fact that Zone-I is declared in the category of illegal housing schemes which carried out a violation of the approved layout plan as well as encroachment.

“In this regard it was observed that there is a lot of confusion in illegal construction which is creating embarrassment for the CDA before different agencies, forums, courts etc,” mentioned the letter issued by the planning wing of the CDA.

The documents, which Daily Times has got state that “Shaheen apartments in E-11, Khayam Town, Madina Town, Khuda Baksh Town, Margalla Oaks, Shams Colony, Khyaban-e-Faiz, Sadat Land, Linker and Builder, Royal Farm House, Iqbal Town, Shangrilla Comforts, Abdullah Garden, HCI/ Jalat House and Mehar Apartments in Sector H-13, KRL Flats, Qadeer Town, Faisal Town, Gulshan-e-Khudad Phase 5, Najam Enclave, Kamran Town/ Dhoke Shmalaki, Dhoke Boota, Bostan Town, Raza Town, Officers Colony Phase 1, Malikabad Muhammadi Town, Usman Town and Madina Town in Sector H-14, Rehman Town, Model Valley, Farid Town, New Pind, Dhoke Malyar, Islamabad Homes, Shams Town and University Town in Sector H-15, National Police Foundation, Islamabad Garden, Pak Medical CHS, FECHS ( Federation of Employees, LOP cancelled) and Services CHS in Sector E-11/4, C-13-14, D-11-12-13-14-15 & 16, E-12-13-14 & 15, G-12, H-12-13-14-15-16-17, I-13 and I-17,” these housing schemes and building apartments are illegal.

On August 15, the member planning of the CDA directed the building control section and enforcement directorate to take strict action against the illegal housing schemes and the buildings which were constructed without the approval of the building plan by the competent authority.

The unauthorised buildings are advertising and booking apartments which are illegal. The Authority has decided to take action against the subject apartment building in collaboration with the enforcement directorate as per rules and SOPs.

It further directed to take action against all other buildings in Sector E-11 which are being constructed without any approval and no objection certificate (NOC) by the civic authority.
