ISLAMABAD: The circle registrar Islamabad, has called for an explanation from the Senate Cooperative Housing Society and has frozen its accounts, on floating an advertisement in the media regarding sale of plots despite the case being under investigation in the NAB . Daily Times came to know that a business group from Karachi is busy in illegal sale of plots in the Senate Cooperative Housing Society. The new administration of the society neither got a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CDA nor did they seek permission from the National Accountability Bureau and the Registrar’s Office. The head of the new management, Didar, in connivance with the Memon Group, has opened a new pandora’s box . When Daily Times contacted Didar, President of the society’s administration, he said that they had a deal with the Memon Group according to which they gave approximately 450 plots to it. They are authorised to sell these plots through advertisements. On the other hand the Chairman Senate, Raza Rabbani, has also prevented the cooperative housing society from exploiting the name of the upper house of the parliament. On the directives of Raza Rabbani, the registrar apprised the Secretary Senate, that in this regard they had been taking action already, right from the beginning, against the society. The Secretary instructed the registrar that no one should be allowed to misuse the name of the Senate. When this reporter made contact with the registrar’s office, they said that when first the advertisement appeared in the media, the registrar forbade it but they showed doggedness and issued the advertisement for three continuous days and tried to hoodwink the simpletons. A senior officer of the circle registrar’s office Islamabad, said that it was mentioned in the notice that the registrar might suspend the entire body of the society. ” We are taking review of the matter that in presence of a reference in NAB, how the society gave ads in the media”, he added
