ISLAMABAD: Three employees of CDA have knocked the door of the court against the handing over of several departments as well as assets of the authority to the local government. The applicants including Azhar Khan, Muhammad Nisar Akhtar and Syed Munawar through their lawyer, Umair Hanif, filed a writ petition at the Islamabad High Court in which they took the stance that giving the control of different directorates and assets of billions of rupees to Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation was illegal. The application said that there was a proper provision regarding transfer of power in the section 52 of the CDA ordinance but in sheer violation of the law, CDA’s assets worth billions of rupees and different sections of the Capital Development Authority were handed over to the mayor of the federal capital. They pleaded the court that notifications issued on June22and 27 this year in this regard, might be cancelled till the decision of the court in the case came to the surface.
