At least 40 people were reportedly hospitalised in health facilities of Dadu district, like Civil Hospital Dadu, Taluka Hospital KN Shah, Johi and Mehar on Wednesday as mercury rose to 52 degree Celsius in Dadu and its surrounding areas. It is highest temperature recorded in Dadu in history of the century as mercury rose to 52 degree Celsius in Dadu and its surrounding parts on Wednesday as it was 51 degree Celsius on Tuesday. In Dadu city, as soon as mercury rose to 52 degree Celsius, the children and youngsters rushed to Dadu canal and started to swim to protect themselves from scorching heat. People reached to swim at Dadu canal from Dadu-Moro to Panjmore in Dadu city. Big numbers of the birds were seen falling from trees at different parts in Dadu and its outskirts. After increasing scorching heat, aged persons remained indoors from lunch time to evening of Wednesday. After lunch time, the transport was remained off in all roads leading to Dadu district like Dadu-Larkana, Dadu-Sehwan, dadu-Moro and Dadu-Johi. The business in dadu also was affected seriously due to scorching heat; businessmen and shopkeepers shut the doors and rushed to homes in different parts of after lunch time. “Several shopkeepers kept water coolers outside the shops for drinking water to protect the people from scorching heat” said shopkeeper Ghulam Mohammad”. “Due to scorching heat, the people were not ready to visit shops for shopping at Shahi Bazar” “Mohammad Suleman a shopkeeper boat seller”. “Already business was seriously affected due to locked down situation and now the scorching heat was affecting business as shops were opened, the ratio of clients was very low at station road ” said Farhan Bhand shopkeeper”. While speaking with this correspondent DHO Dadu, Dr Zahid Dawachh said that major quantity of ORS drips were provided to heatstroke centers in hospitals of Dadu districts. SSP Dadu arranged cold water and water coolers at police stations and police check posts in district to protect the police officials from scorching heat. SSP Dadu, Dr Farrukh Raza Malik said that water cooler, with ice and electric water cooler were arranged for police stations and patrolling police mobiles in Dadu district. The sale of Cold drinks and juices was high in Dadu city. Philanthropists started to supply the cold water at Johi naka and Moundar Naka of Dadu city. While, citizens complained supply of to low voltages and load shedding in various parts of Dadu district during scorching heat weave. SSP Jamshoro, Amjad Shaikh also supplied water cooler with ice to the police stations and patrolling police mobiles in Jamshoro district to protect police staff from scorching heat.
