LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government believes in politics of service and values. He said that the politics of protests has already caused a lot of loss to the country and there is no justification for especially when Pakistan was moving towards progress and prosperity. He said that those who were involved in negative politics do not want progress of the country or prosperity of the masses, adding that the people of Pakistan were fully aware regarding those who were serving them and also those who were trying to create anarchy. Talking to a delegation of PML-N on Saturday, Shahbaz Sharif said that the elements involved in politics of agitation were bent upon wasting the precious time of the nation once again. He said that those trying to promote anarchy and hamper the process of prosperity of the masses were the real enemies of Pakistan. In a democratic setup, he added, decisions were taken in the parliament and not on roads. The chief minister said that the aim of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s undue protest was to stop the process of speedy development. “Those trying to create anarchy want to push the country into darkness but conscious people of Pakistan have rejected these elements through the power of vote on every occasion” he added. Shahbaz said the protestors had no aim and were afraid of the popularity of PML-N, as under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, it has set records of public service. “They are afraid of the fact that completion of energy and other development projects will end their politics,” he CM asserted. He said that people do not need hollow slogans and aimless protests, adding that the so-called torchbearers of change were unaware of the real problems of the people, and were increasing the problems through unjustified protests. The chief minister said that government is determined to ensure a prosperous future for Pakistan and those engaged in protest politics would fail to achieve their designs while Pakistan would continue to move ahead. Meanwhile, newly appointed American Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The chief minister congratulated Yuriy Fedkiw on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed good wishes for him. Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that government is determined to make Pakistan a welfare-oriented state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. American Consul General Yuriy Fedkiw said US attaches high importance to its relations with Pakistan. He said that he had heard a lot about the work carried out by Shahbaz Sharif and now seen it personally. Quality and speed in the implementation of public welfare projects is the hallmark of the chief minister, he added.
