ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Railways would run eight ‘special trains’ across the country in a bid to extend maximum facilities to passengers on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
“The first special train would leave from Karachi to Peshawar on September 10,” Pakistan Railways Director Operations Muhammad Ashraf Lanjar said on Monday.
He said that the second special train would leave from Quetta to Rawalpindi on September 10, while the third train would depart from Karachi to Lahore on September 11. The fourth special train would leave from the Rawalpindi Railway Station to Lahore on September 12 and the fifth train would depart from the Lahore Railway Station to Rawalpindi on the same date, he added.
Ashraf Lanjar said that the Pakistan Railways started advance booking for the special trains, adding that additional coaches were also arranged with the trains to accommodate maximum passengers.
“A comprehensive advertisement campaign of Pakistan Railways is being launched create awareness about the special trains,” he added. He said that the special trains proved to be a big revenue generator for the department, however, the decision was taken to facilitate the passengers at large.
