Count all the ways you’re beautiful, your soul and your spirit, your heart full of love, your mind full of care, your brain full of questions, your hands that can comfort, your words that can soothe, your conscience that roots you, in the good, right and true. You are a miracle, unique through and through. So count the ways you’re beautiful, and always be proud of you. English poet Ms Moem beautifully describe a role of woman in poem titled “Count all the ways you’re beautiful” The International Women’s Day was marked on Sunday. It is a special day for celebrating role of women at their homes and in development of society, taking practical steps for their empowerment and giving them opportunities, but it is not a day to distract people, as controversial posters of last year’s Aurat Marchers have taken away from the real issues faced by the women in general. The debate in Pakistan currently is focused on the Aurat March that coincides every year with International Women’s Day. Annually on March 8, Pakistani women display slogans against men who do not believe in gender equality or feminism. A woman have so much importance for herself and for all those around her .Islam realized the importance of women and granted them a very dignified position equal to man. As far as empowerment of woman is concerned it means accepting and allowing woman in decision making process. The people are empowered when they are able to access the opportunities available to them without limitations and restrictions. The theme for International Women’s Day this year was “I Am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights.” Instead of fighting on social media just on statements women leaders, who are role model for many poor or middle class women can play their positive and constructive role in presenting real issues. A woman is an epitome of beauty, wisdom and care. No matter how we choose to celebrate the special women in our life today. But we must give respect to all amazing moms, incredible sisters or remarkable daughters.
