Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh through his legal counsel has sent an notice to SSP Shikarpur Rizwan Ahjmed, that SSP Shikarpur within 14 days before media to prove this fake and fabricated allegations against him otherwise legal proceedings will be initiated against him (SSP Shikarpur). The notice will also served with defamation clause worth of Rs 1 billion. According to the notice, that SSP Shikarpur has allegedly trying to defame the reputation of his (Imtiaz Shaikh) and his family. In the notice, the Minister Imtiaz Shaikh has said that I belong to educated and respectable family, remained ex Bureaucrat and holding the charge of Eight Administrative departments and worked as Principal Secretary to Ex CM Sindh. After entered in politics, the people of Shikarpur had interested and reposed their confidence in his personality due to his doters character and elected many times and become Member of Sindh Cabinet and on other position and public offices. Meanwhile, a petition was filed in the Sindh High Court seeking disqualification of Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani and Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh as members of the Sindh Assembly over allegedly harbouring criminals. The petition also requested the court to order a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe into the charges against them. The petitioner, a citizen, stated that the Sindh police’s reports expose the ministers’ alleged involvement in patronising criminal elements to gain political mileage and serve their vested interests. He requested the court to form a JIT to probe into accusations levelled against them in these secret reports. Mammoth rally taken out in favour of Imtiaz Shaikh, against Shikarpur SSP Separately, the supporters of Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, the minister for Energy Sindh, took out a huge rally in favour of Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh and his family members and against Police Chief Shikarpur Dr Rizwan Ahmed Khan for issuing alleged secret report against Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, his son Faraz Ahmed Shaikh and his brother Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh for patronizing criminals in Shikarpur, here on Wednesday. Addressing the rally leaders including Agha Salah Uddin, Wasim Sidiki, AK Lashari, Dr Ghulam Rasool Brohi, Faheem Soomro, Zafar Shaikh, Zaheer Dreho, Abdul Wahab Kagzi, Iqbal Abbasi and others rejected alleged secret report against Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh and his family mebers and termed it baseless and fabricated and said that Mr Shaikh is elected representative and who thrice elected from Shikarpur and believes to serve for people of the area, he however alleged that there is [in Shikarpur] law and order situation has been worsening since the posting of SSP Shikarpur and he [SSP] is trying to hide his inefficiency by leveling baseless allegations against Mr Shaikh and said that there is no truth in the alleged report issued by police chief Shikarpur and demanded the Inspector General of Police Sindh to transfer SSP Shikarpur otherwise they threatened protest would be extended across Sindh. Rally was taken out from Shaikh House Shikarpur to Lakhi gate Shikarpur after marching through various routes of Shikarpur. Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, minister for Energy Sindh, also has sent legal notice under section 8 of the defamation ordinace 2002 and Pakistan penal code 1860 amounting one billion rupees for defamation and damaging his respect, such statement has been issued by Iftikhar Ahmed, the PRO of Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh.
