KARACHI: Director General Frontier Works Organization (FWO) Muhammad Afzal has said that development work of M9 Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway is in full swing. He added that there is no disturbance for vehicular traffic. Talking to Daily Times, Afzal said all energies and resources are being used to accelerate the work as the FWO’s objective is ‘Striving for Excellence’. He said according to the agreement the existing 4 Lane Karachi-Hyderabad Superhighway will be converted into 6 Lane Motorway of International Standard, which is also a key project related to China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC). Afzal said the construction of M-8, N-85 and N-25 will provide a vital link between Gwadar and Quetta and Gwadar and Indus Highway, which as a complete road communication will be a game changer for the country’s prosperity. He said Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway project maintenance is in line with international practices and after the completion it would be used for over next 25 years, playing a key role by linking the port city to the whole country. DG FWO declared that this project will ultimately play a key role in area development and progress in every sector.
