KARACHI: Sindh Health Department says 83 new cases of dengue fever have been reported in Karachi during one week time. According to Dengue Prevention & Control Program, Health Department Sindh there was slight decrease in dengue fever cases in the metropolis during reporting period September 30 to October 06, 2016. Last week 85 cases were reported. Karachi Central and East Districts were most affected with 23 fresh cases each, 19 in South and 08 in West. In Korangi & Malir there were 5 cases in each district, it said. Dengue has also kept away seasoned test cricketer Younis Khan from playing opening Test of the three-match series against the West Indies in United Arab Emirates. Younis was hospitalized in Karachi’s private hospital a couple of weeks ago in September last and was diagnosed of dengue. Star cricketer has been dropped out of the opening Test since he is still feeling weak after contracting dengue. Meanwhile three more cases emerged in Tharparkar’s Chachro area. According to independent circles, three more cases were referred to Hyderabad. During last one month reported cases were 29 in Chachro only. Those who were referred are named as Photto from Wakriyo village and Roshni from Chachro town. Ghazi Samejo from Sudharo village was also admitted to Chachro hospital. However District Health Officer Tharparkar Dr Chandar Lal showed his awareness about the reports.
