LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday flayed the rulers for making people slaves of Zionists and Christians in the form of IMF and World Bank loans. Addressing the Central Executive Board of the Pakistan Engineering Forum in Mansoora, he said that in spite of vast resources both of men and material, the country had been burdened under huge foreign and domestic loans in total disregard to the country’s integrity and sovereignty. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had been declared the most successful Asian finance minister for burdening Pakistan with mountains of debt steeped in heavy interest, he added. The meeting through a resolution urged the government to ensure jobs to the young engineers. In another resolution, it demanded that the government approve the service structure for engineers and special allowance for the young engineers. The JI chief said, “Every Pakistani was under the debt of Rs 120,000 and thus the independence of our coming generations had been chained.” The JI chief said that the government activities had created doubts regarding the CPEC as there were contradictions in the statements and the actions of the rulers. Due to that there was unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the government should have a clear policy to remove the deprivations of the smaller provinces. Siraj said the JI’s drive against corruption was continuing most successfully and would be continued on roads and crossings and in parliament. He said he was sure that the judiciary would hold the rulers accountable and recover every penny of the public money from them.
