ISLAMABAD: Civil Aviation Authority has decided to take action against Shaheen Airlines for terminating two of its crewmembers on charges of theft, and sought an explanation from the airlines in this regard. Other departments, including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Customs and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), have also stated investigation against Shaheen Airlines in various other matters. Shaheen Airlines had terminated the services of two cabin crewmembers, Nazia Azkar and Rida Saeed, on charges that they committed theft and lifted undergarments at Prime Mark Shopping Mall in Manchester, during their stay at the United Kingdom. Accused women told Daily Times that the entire saga was based on misunderstanding and the airlines fired them without any issuing any show cause notice or seeking their point of view on the charges. They demanded that the CAA should take action on their termination. It was also known through reliable sources that Shaheen Airline was not only evaded taxes worth millions of rupees, but also confiscated CAA’s land and built a rest house, which has become a hub of immoral activities under the supervision of Shaheen Airline Marketing Manager Zohaib.
