PM House babu accused of harassing lady constable

Published on: October 14, 2016 2:31 AM

ISLAMABAD: Each passing minute of the life of constables and lady constables residing in official residences at the Prime Minister’s (PM’s) Colony, has been made miserable by a key functionary of the PM’s House, in order to force them to vacate their residences and to order the allotment of one to his own driver.

Sources told Daily Times that the most influential functionary at the PM’s House, Fawad Hassan Fawad, has started harassing the employees to get the official residences in which they are residing for the last several years in order to allot one residence to his driver.

The SSP, the SP, the police staff of the Secretariat Police Station, the Deputy Secretary, Salim Shahzad, and dozens of other officials rushed to the PM’s House to get their residences vacated from three constables.

These constables, including Faisal and Neelum Shahzadi, showed them a stay order issued by a court of law. The presentation of the stay order by the constables enraged them. The SSP, the SP and the SHO of the Secretariat Police Station threatened to send them home on forced retirement, dismissal from service, involvement in cases or to send them to jail.

They threatened them to vacate the residences or to get ready to face dire consequences.

Neelum Shahzadi, a lady constable is living in Quarter No 7 of Bock No 14 at the PM’s House for the last several years. Her husband has died and the IG police Islamabad had not only appointed her at the PM’s House but also allotted quarters therein for the sake of her safety and security.

Sources said that several constables including Constable Faisal were transferred from the PM’s House so that the quarters held by them could be vacated. But Faisal and other constables moved the court against the high handedness and appealed to the IG Islamabad, Tariq Masood Yasin, for the withdrawal of their transfer orders.

In order to confirm this report, Daily Times tried to contact the Secretariat Police Station and the SSP DPD, Mir Waiz, but his telephone was powered off. However, the Secretariat Police Station staff said that no such incident had been reported to them.

The sources from the other side said that a plan had been evolved for not only registering cases at the Police Station Secretariat against the defiant constables who have got the stay order from the court but also a consultation process was under way to award exemplary punishment to them.

According to sources at the PM’s House this “drama” had been enacted by Fawad Hassan Fawad to allot a residence to his driver.
