KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday vowed to complete the unfinished mission of slain PPP Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto to get the country rid of terrorism, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and sectarianism. Accompanied by two former prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, Bilawal led a rally to pay homage to the victims of 2007 Karsaz attack in which more than 120 people lost their lives as the rally of Benazir Bhutto came under attack. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, provincial mister Manzoor Wassan, Senator Sherry Rehman and other central leaders of PPP also participated in the rally along with thousands of party workers. Bilawal addressed the participants of rally at four points, Bilawal House, Lyari, Mazar-e-Quaid and finally at Karsaz. Addressing the rally at Bilawal House, the PPP chairman said, “BB’s son is among you. I have brought change in Sindh. I am bringing change in the party and if you stand by me we will also bring change to the whole Pakistan.” “My new team will be more effective. BB was the ray of hope for the people of Sindh and together we will complete the unfinished mission of BB. Together we will get freedom from terrorism, from poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, sectarianism and from the caretakers of religion,” said Bilawal. The PPP chairman “We will together bring freedom from terrorism, for Kashmiris, from poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, sectarianism, from the caretakers of religion – and bring freedom from ‘Takht-i-Raiwind’.” He said that a contract to hunt tiger down has been awarded to a player, and immature opposition has strengthened the reign of Nawaz Sharif. “Killers of BB thought that nobody would dare to stand against them but see BB’s son is here,” he added. Bilawal paid rich tributes to the people of Lyari. He said, “The wedding ceremony of Shaheed BB was performed at the Kakri ground and I was also born in the same area. Lyari is the lifeline of Karachi as it has always raised voice against dictators.” “The peace of Lyari was destabilized through a conspiracy as many innocent youths of Lyari were killed. People of Lyari always sided with my grandfather and my mother. My mother and grandfather never disappointed you.” “PPP always provided employment to people but on the contrary N-league always snatched livelihood from them. Now I have arrived – the arrow has been shot from the bow. The kite has been cut down which used to talk about the division of Sindh. Those who talked about the division of Sindh have now been shattered,” said Bilawal, adding that Basant will be celebrated in 2018 in Karachi. He said that now only arrow would rule in Karachi. The “Salam Shuhuda Rally” commenced from the Bilawal House and culminated at Karsaz, passing through Boat Basin, Mai Kolachi, ICI Chowk, Kakri Ground, Lee Market, Napier Road, Denso Hall, MA Jinnah Road, Numaish Chowrangi, Shahrah-i-Quaideen and Shara-e-Faisal. Strict security measures were taken along the rally’s route as all exit and entry points of the route were sealed with containers. Reception camps for the rally were set up in many parts of the city. The banners bearing party slogans were also placed at major roads of the city. Addressing at Mazar-e-Quaid, Bilawal said today the Quaid’s Pakistan is bleeding because of terrorism. “O Quaid! I want to tell you that violators of constitution are roaming freely today in your country. I promise to remake Pakistan according to your dreams”, he added.
