Karachi: An anti-terrorism court declared absconding accused of the Parveen Rehman murder case as proclaimed offenders. The ATC is likely to indict the prime suspect behind the murder of known philanthropist and Orangi Pilot Project’s (OPP) director at the next hearing. It has ordered the provision of the copy of the charge-sheet to the accused. Absconding suspects, including Noor Muhammad and Ihsanuddin, were declared proclaimed offenders after the investigation officer failed to execute the non-bailable warrants issued time and again by the court for their arrest. Key suspect Rahim swati was arrested from Manghopir area in May, 2016. He is said to be the local leader of Awami National Party (ANP). According to the prosecution, Swati had admitted killing Parveen Rehman on March 3, 2013, along with other accomplices. Swati was arrested by a special police team formed on the directives of the Supreme Court which had taken notice of the failure of law enforcement agencies to nab the accused persons.
