Lahore: The US Ambassador to Pakistan Paul Jones met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at CM House on Tuesday where various topics from bilateral ties to the rights of minorities came under discussion. Chief Minister Buzdar shed light on the policies of the Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government towards the minorities. Driving from the opening of Kartapur Corridor to the construction of Baba GuruNanak University, and the submission of a bill in the National Assembly against forceful religion conversion before adulthood. Moreover, the US Ambassador maintained that the United States of America is very delight upon the opening of Kartapur Corridor and praised it has a durable decent impact on Pakistan’s position around the world. Chief Minister, added that giving the rights to minorities was the dream of a Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and our government is committed as accord to his vision. “We want to make Pakistan a welfare state where people get their rights,” Usman Buzdar said. Before the meeting, US Ambassador Paul Jones visited the historic Wazir Khan Masjid, accompanied by his wife to review the ongoing restoration work under the ‘US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation’. He vowed about the historicity of Lahore.
